A site like this one requires at least a full T1 line to support totally open access. Consumer technologies such as cable modem, DSL, or satellite link are not good enough: these devices have good download speed, but very slow upload speed which is what a web server needs.
At this point, it will probably live as long as I do, since I'm pretty good at running a web server now and it doesn't take much to keep the site up. However, I can't guarantee anything.
